USPA NEWS - Choose Paris Region, Groupe ADP and Groupe RATP announce the winners of the call for expressions of international interest for the structuring of an Urban Air Mobility sector In order to bring together an ecosystem around urban air mobility in ÃŽle-de-France, the RATP Group, the ADP Group and Choose Paris Region launched on October 1 a call for international expressions of interest, with the support of the Region Ile-de-France. This initiative, whose scale is unprecedented in Europe, brought together 150 applications from 25 countries. About thirty winners were chosen, in order to be able to carry out experiments in June 2021 on the test area at Pontoise - Cormeilles-en-Vexin aerodrome, inaugurated on September 30, 2020.

Choose Paris Region, Groupe ADP and Groupe RATP announce the winners of the call for expressions of international interest for the structuring of an Urban Air Mobility sector. In order to bring together an ecosystem around urban air mobility in ÃŽle-de-France, the RATP Group, the ADP Group and Choose Paris Region launched on October 1 a call for international expressions of interest, with the support of the Region Ile-de-France. To meet the challenges posed by this new form of mobility in terms of defining uses, acceptability, technologies and industrialization, the call for expressions of interest was structured around the following five components: THE VEHICLE FOR MANUFACTURERS AND EQUIPMENT SUPPLIERS (BATTERIES, AVIONICS, ETC) INFRASTRUCTURE FOR ENERGY COMPANIES OR VERTIPORT DESIGNERS OPERATIONS FOR PROVIDERS FOR INTERMODAL SOLUTIONS, MAINTENANCE OR DIGITAL NETWORKING PLATFORMS INTEGRATION INTO THE AIRSPACE FOR SUPPLIERS OF UNNAMED TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT (UTM) OR COMMUNCIATIONS/NAVIGATION SYSTEMS ACCEPTABILITY FOR RESEARCH LABORATORIES AND STUDY INSTITUTES AROUND SOCIETAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES START OF EXPERIMENTS IN SUMMER 2021------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thus, from June 2021, in close collaboration with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) and with the support of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and Eurocontrol, the European organization for air navigation safety, parking, take-off and landing operations can be tested in a real aeronautical environment at Pontoise, or even operations around the vehicle, whether for maintenance or electric charging. The selected candidates join Volocopter, a manufacturer of a vertical take-off electric vehicle (eVTOL), which will be the first industrial player to test its VoloCity vehicle from June 2021.
